Towing two trailers....apparently this guys has approval.

I'm skeptical as if he does have approval why hasn't he flood gates opened and we see two trailers being towed everywhere.

B Double technology???

its been done before... it was something like apparently registration or something as truck trailers and drive as a double...
hideously cost prohibitive

From the Victorian Road Safety (Vehicle) Regs -

So how is a B double allowed to tow 2 trailers?

You'd have to think he's going to get pulled over by every single cop car that sees him, and gets booked by all of them...

Actually he did.

I used to work for Vicroads and received a photo at one stage from another enforcement officer from Mildura who pulled him up and instructed him to take it back home, with the help of a couple of bits of paper for his efforts.

As Bird said cost for one getting everything engineered, other from memory is that he was a retired truck driver and you need to be liscenced to drive a B-double to drive it

On another forum they say he had no issues driving across four states when pulled up by the authorities.

Whats the B double technology?

A B double is a configeration consisting of a prime mover (a vehicle that has it's tow coupling above the rear axle group, not behind) towing a semi trailer (a trailer with it's only axle group at the rear of the trailer and it's tow coupling at the front) which is in turn towing another semi trailer.

This blokes configeration doesn't use a prime mover or semi trailers, so it can't be considered a b double, which is why he got pulled up just outside Mildura and sent home.

Not at this time permitted in Vic.
Any/all trailers would need break away braking, besides anything else.
