The horse vid is a bit like when we hit a cow (small bull actually) 120K east of Wilcannia. Clipped it behind the ear and broke it's neck. It was dead within about five minutes, the time it took for me to walk back to the vehicle and come back with the only thing I could find to put it out of it's misery, a ball pein hammer
. When it hit, the bull spun back along the lefthand side of my Troopy Luckily, considering the number of roos and goats on the road, I had slowed down to about 85K, but even with a set of driving lights and a LED light bar, I didn't see him till it was too late. I didn't swerve, but as I slowed I did manage to gently steer around him enough to not hit it head on.
Damage to my vehicle was a bent bull bar, slight ding in the lefthand guard, and a heap of cow sh1t down the side of the vehicle and over the front LH corner of the caravan. Having the bull bar meant I could continue on with the trip, this was about 7pm on the first night of 5 weeks on the road.
