Vietnam Vets Day
« on: August 18, 2017, 06:48:03 PM »
Jahna just told me it's Vietnam Vets Day today. Nothing advertised on the radio or tv, just a pop up on Facebook from someone she knows saying her son in cadets celebrated it today.
Typical Australia, bend over backwards for others but don't acknowledge our own.

To all the Vets out there that experienced this horrible ordeal, celebrate this day proudly, I take my hat off to you guys

Totally agree Listo.
They've been keeping this real quiet.

We, as Australians, owe our Armed Forces people big time.
Especially the ones that went off shore.
And yet they're consistently denied the kudos and gratitude they deserve.

And the pigs that lined the streets on our boys return should have been rounded up and charged with Treason.
Along with Dockside workers that prevented supplies leaving Australia at the time of need.

My middle son's class (year 6) took part in a ceremony at the local memorial - they read out some poems and laid a wreath on behalf of the school.
He said there were only a few people there and was glad the 30 odd kids (and teachers) made it a crowd for the "old soldiers".
