Carrying a Ziggy or Webber on a Hard Floor
« on: May 31, 2017, 11:27:11 AM »
Can ask the peeps with hard floor rear fold campers; If you carry one these bbq's, how do you do it ? Does anyone carry it in a plastic box on top (Space Case type). I looked at the boxes at Bunnings and I was surprised at the internal dimensions compared to the outside. That is, a reduction inside due to the ribbing of the plastic.

I don't want to be carting a 600mm high box.

I'm going to go and have a look at the Ziggy and get the height of it with the lid folded under. I'm hoping this will fit in a box 450 high (external dimension)

I have a space case fitted on top of the front box of my hardfloor, I use it to carry 4 camping chairs levelling ramp, high lift jack base plate (used to go under the jockey wheel to stop it sinking in sand etc), and a small ladder. The space case is held in place with a chain each corner from the handles did an to a tie down rail each side of the front box and turnbuckles to tighten the chain. I had a friend use ratchet straps to secure his space see in the same location, and he ended up with cracked welds in the corner of his front box, I reckon the straps were stretching allowing movement up and down of his space case which caused the cracks.

Our Ziggy just goes into the carry bag, and in the front box of the camper.
