if you search Composting Toilet  you'll get a few hits on here and a few people with them for a while now.. but would be worth asking them if they are still happy with them!

I have an Airhead Composting toilet from A Better Way to Go but have not installed it yet. http://www.abetterwaytogo.com.au/airhead
It's very well made. Expensive at $1600, but looks good. Anything to avoid emptying a smelly tank every few days.

Easy to make up a DIY composting toilet ..
 From Bunnings cut down  a $20 Ally folding directors chair with side table and  7 mm ply deck with full home size toilet cut out fitted with a  with proper toilet seat  [ Much better to use  than the tiny camping porta potty types ] About $40 total cost  ...
  Varnished and fitted with 4x pin  locators to hold it in place on chair .. 1 x metal or plastic paint drum [15 or 20 ltr ] snap lock lid /  heavy duty garbage bag liners to hold solid waste / cut down funnel to 5 ltr recycled engine oil container for liquid waste ..

Hey edz, how would you stop it from moving around when in transit?

Reusable type Zip ties to close the bag and dispose the bag of semi dry solids [ mulch material absorbs moisture ] at earliest convenience  [  Bin / dump point  ] and water a tree with the bottled  liquids or cap it till a toilet is handy .

You forgot the cost of the shovel in there 
And putting the bags full of shyte into either a dump point or a bin really isn't very nice, hygenic nor recommended.
Human waste should NEVER be disposed of in a rubbish bin and plastic bags should NEVER be disposed of in dump points

Interesting vid on the air head composting toilet ....   Also, its slightly amusing in a strange kinda way....

They emphasize that "moisture is your enemy"...

Makes me wonder why someone hasn't invented one of these things with 'gale force turbo fans worth' of airflow. ....

I am sure the manufacturers have tried this already; and have not proceeded down that path for some reason ...

But apart from amps draw - why wouldn't much more air flow through the tank much better keep on top of keeping ya poop dry??

Human waste should NEVER be disposed of in a rubbish bin [  Place empty bag into bin .. No worse than baby nappies or bags of dog crap ] and plastic bags should NEVER be disposed of in dump points [ Totaly agree as they stuff up the sullage pumps on the pick up trucks ]

The specs on my Airhead say that it draws less than 0.2 amps and will run off a solar fan. Excessive moisture stops air getting down into the compost bed and the answer is apparently to add a bit more dry peat moss.

The poo apparently decomposes very quickly as it is instantly buried in the compost bed then you turn the handle after use. Paper takes a good deal longer and it may be worthwhile to collect paper separately in a paper bag in a sealed bin and burn it in the campfire.

The bottle at the front collects the pee separately and needs to be emptied under the nearest lemon tree. I hear that you can add a bit of sugar to the empty bottle to stop urine smells.

The compost can be double bagged and disposed off as normal garbage, buried in a deep hole, emptied into a long drop or maybe hosed down a dump point.

I have noticed that Kimberley have started using composting toilets. They always seem to be the first to adopt new ideas.
