I'm sorry but 4 coaches in 5 years, theres more wrong than just the coach....
I'd say start at the top and work your way to the dozey players.
Actually it is the 4th coach in 7 years not that bad, similar to some other clubs. Farah has been the problem, he was moved on from Parra then Souths
.
happy to be wrong as I can't stand the guy actually.....he was trouble when he played for Wests and at the Bears also, glad he sorted the Farah issue out and got rid of him though...hopefully the club can move forward from here.
Yep he (Taylor) did well with Farah in offloading him to Souths whilst the Tigers continue to pay Farah and take a sizeable chunk of the salary cap. Coach Taylor thought he could solve the delimar with a replacement no 9 (Halatau) who retired end of season 2016 and never had a quality 9 replacement. Matt Ballin was the obvious in Taylor's eyes replacement for Farah and he was banking on Ballin but he hasn't played since injury in round 3 2016 and is off contract as a result but still training with a view to a new contract but as a 33 year old, is not really future building for a club. Then you see other players he let go, going well at their new clubs.
I don't think Farah was the issue, but rather Taylor. As a lifelong Balmain supporter and playing junior games for that club it is becoming a sad to see the demise of the merged clubs.
Would be happy to see Cleary there but my tip will be Cowboy assistant and former old boy Todd Payton who guided the 3 young players through the U20's. Cleary maybe a good fit for the club to further developing the halfs similar to what he did with Johnson in NZ and his son with Panthers.
Bright days ahead I hope.
