NRL Season 2017
« on: March 04, 2017, 05:25:02 PM »
Now that it's back, I thought I'd kick off the 2017 version.
My predictions are,
Premiership - Roosters
Minor Premiership - Storm
Spoon - Dragons
SOO - NSW 2-1

My Knights to not get laughed at so much this year.

The rugby league career of Newcastle star Jarrod Mullen is all but over after confirmation of a second positive test to a banned anabolic steroid.

The NRL confirmed on Tuesday it had been informed by the Australian Sports Anti- Doping Agency that Mullen's B-sample tested positive to steroid Drostanolone.

Bunnies to get the spoon after seeing how my guys towelled them up last week...made worse with Inglis now gone also. Sadly I can see NSW winning origin this year, lots of good young talent coming through in key positions with Qld getting old (though I hope this prediction is wrong)

I'm not too sure sure of odds, Tracker, I'm not much good at betting either. Although I'd have money on Jarryd Hayne for MOM if you could bet on that. I wish the media would stir him up after they played the Knights.

This'll probably sound terrible Bird, but it's not all that bad. It's a Shit look for the club, he shouldn't be missed too much as he only plays a handful of games a year anyway

thing that gets me is 1:10 get caught in NRL/NRU/AFL etc and spread around the "news"... the others like in AFL you get 2 strikes and they wont say who the offender is.. **** em. do the crime, suffer.

They'd all be fighting amongst themselves. All the roosters fans would've been at home watching the game on tv

another epic game between the two teams...no wonder we've towelled the Blues up the past 10 years with such close competition between these Qld teams. 8)

Still wondering why we need golden point during normal rounds?
Save it for the finals and just call a draw a draw during the season.

Just watched the Qld game. Another great match.
Love golden point, they just keep going at it full tilt, unbelievably tough.

Cheers Glen

X2.....looking at the points table and Brisbane gets nothing out of that game / no reward for the effort they put in (and i wanted the Cowboys to win by the way). I'd be happy to see golden point used only during the finals when a team needs to be eliminated, reward both teams during the regular season. Brisbane get the same reward this week as Canberra, who just got touched up big time by the Sharks...doesn't seem right to me.

Maybe give 2 points to the winner and 1 point to the loser.
Also maybe bonus points could be given for scoring x number of tries or beating opposition by x points like sharks did to raiders.
I'm happy with golden point however I don't beleive the loser should get nil points.

I wonder how long it'll take for the headlines to be questioning Jason Taylor's job again

i don't rate him at all, the club lost 2 much better coaches before finally punting Farah who was the real problem. Sadly the club has financial issues that mean they won't get rid of Taylor in a hurry.
