Metro fuel
« on: February 16, 2017, 03:00:21 PM »
Just doing some research on Fuel Map and found this fuel station Metro. In Bathurst they are $1.10 for diesel where every one else is around $1.30. So anyone down that way using this mob?
Cheers Bruce

We have a Metro fuel in Canberra in an industrial area, they are also consistently cheaper than most other places.

The servo is built on the old Mobil/ Hill and Co fuel distribution site that went bust a few years ago not sure if they are connected or Metro simply found an ex servo site to use to lower start up costs?

Metro Petroleum have been around for long time and are headquartered in Sydney. I think they now have abut 180 servos in NSW mostly clustered around Sydney. They are a major player in the fuel business and I'd be very surprised if they sold dodgy product.
200 Series 2008, bull bar, Airmax snorkel, rack with 200 watt solar, third battery, winch, 33's with 2 spares, long range tank, drawers & barrier, bash plates, lifted & locked, Richards transmission lockup plus plenty of dings. Now towing the new Off Road Glamper.

Double check but I think that they may run ethanol blends in all their fuel.

We have one a couple of k's away and I regularly see Mobil tankers filling them up. I buy my diesel there, always 10 to 15 cents cheaper than the big brands.

Just because the fuel is coming out of a mobil tanker doesn't mean it is the same fuel coming out of the tank.

When researching Costco fuel I found that additives are often added, or omitted, when the trucks unload.

Admit the info was off the net and as always the credibility could be dodgy.
I can be a cranky old bugga so if I offended anyone I apologize, but you probably deserved it.

Bruce, try "PetrolSpy". I find it has more user input and is more regularly updated than Fuel Map.
Cheers, John.

In NSW I'd use Fuel Check (search nsw fuel check) as it's run by the state government and has to be updated by the servo within 15mins of a price change IIRC
