Sort Of.
Just thought I'd post a couple of Photo's of how we traveled as youngsters. The first pic is of a Cape York trip parked at Coen Post Office. The front camper is a Cargill and our one at the back is a Kenlow. The kenlow was heavily modified at a later date and still resides on my dad's farm.It had a new chassis added,10 jerry cans across the front, shockies, rear tyre carrier and steel pivoting lid.It had a double bunk in the trailer , another double above that and 2 rooms setup out the side.
I remember doing trips on the desert tracks,Mitchell Plateau ,Gibb River ,Cape York across to Darwin in this.
The next pic is how my father did it before 4wd and Campers. With the recent rain on Uluru it reminds me of when he and his brother headed out from the farm to Ayers Rock and have pictures of the waterfalls off the rock. They took the XY Falcon Farm ute and a HG Station wagon across the middle to Uluru in 1974.
