I'm guessing this email notice is a scam?

Hello All,
This came by way of email am today!
Given
1, the  low value quoted
2, I don't remember anything occurring on the date quoted
3, The senders name & email address

I'm guessing they ( Scammers ) are onto the new system which now allows the emailing/txting of infringement notices?

Your thoughts??

Not so much a scam, more just a virus.
DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT!

Our genius OH&S guy at work opened the attachment on the fake AFP speeding fine that was going around a while ago.
For starters the AFP don't issue speeding fines.... But anyway, he's clicked the attachment to see the photo evidence while on his work PC.
The virus that he downloaded followed his clicks as he opened folders on our main server and locked them behind him. Within minutes half of our server was being held to ransom.

Luckily we have multiple backups of our server, including a copy in our head office in Switzerland. We were able to completely wipe our local sever and restore it back to the end of the previous day using our overseas backup.
From memory (and I could be wrong) to unlock the data they wanted something like US$10,000 per folder that had been infected. Our corporate lawyers (a huge law firm in Sydney) told us that they have had other companies that they represent who had no choice but to pay the ransom to get their files unlocked.

Most people at home would not have been so lucky and I guess would have lost everything.

Really can't see how the people who sent it thought that I would believe it....

You would be surprised how many people get caught up in these scams!! At least once a month A Current Affairs does a piece on this!

i keep getting overdue notices for bills from some electricity company
that i have never had an account with
received two last week for different amounts (seems the scammers forget who they're trying to scam) 
and a few others over the last couple of months
i near paid the first one not thinking, but realised soon enough that i had only just paid my actual bill the week before.

Also had one land this morning offering me a job as the Australian rep for an international logistics company 

Best bit about it was the pay on offer:

Your salary:

1. 4300$ per month if you work on a full-time basis.

2. Up to 7800$ monthly if you prefer the part-time option

First time I've ever seen a job that pays ~twice as much for part-time! 

I won't be proceeding with the offer at this stage, but if anyone is interested, please let me know & I'll forward you the e-mail  Unfortunately though, I've also got to mention that the popular opinion of these offers is that they involve money-laundering for international drug rings

“It is important to stress that this in an opt-in system. You will only receive a TIN by email or MMS if you have spoken to an officer and volunteered to receive it this way."

We get daily pest emails that mostly go streight to junk, they pretty much all come from the US. But they change the email address every time, so pretty much impossible to block them completly.
Today I've been invited to become part of the "Nespresso Test Panel", how exciting!!!

But the best one by far was this one that I received a few months back;

She actually sent me an email to tell me that she had my email address and was selling it to the spammers for US$1,000 a pop.....
Needless to say that nicole.miller@prospects-database.com now gets signed up for every promotion or dodgy entry form that needs an email address.

I'm sure she'd like emails from all of you're marketing friends too...

Govco can trace virtually anything, why cant the track these parasites and send a nice little drone to pay them a visit.

Do it a few times and Ill bet the scammers dry up.

I hate these animals with a vengeance and would willingly give them a telephone pole enema.

When it comes to phone scammers, I can usually get half a dozen obscene words out before they hang up.
