I can advise that the Accu-level is pretty crap. They come packaged tightly rolled/folded and I doubt I will ever be able to get them to flatten out enough that they will sit flat against the side of a bottle. The magnet is very weak too which doesn't help.

Conversely, the luggage weight gauge works perfectly.

Hmmm.... I've ordered the Gaslock Gaslevel pen for $60 so fingers crossed eh?
I think we've all tried the stick on or magnet tape ones at some stage and gone back to the hot water trick disillusioned but it seems there's always a fresh supply of lpg noobs to flog them to.

Jaycar have a cheapy for $14 might be worth a try although it seems more suited to a low level warning indicator than level checker-

I'm happy to try the pen job if it saves me boiling up water and ducking under the bed of the Jayco to check it as this 6'4" body don't bend like it used to. Besides as the BIL would say- Tell yourself you're a nice bloke and you deserve it, plus- He who dies with the most toys wins!

Yep the Jaycar one is on ebay too but I've just received the Gaslock pen and it works fine on my 8.5kg bottles and a reserve 2kg bottle I carry. I settled on the pen one as most suitable for my Jayco situation where the 8.5kg bottle sits in the typical cara type holder on the drawbar. As I surmised looking at the different types, the pen allows me to even check within the bolt together gap between the upper steel strap (apart from the actual bolt itself) whereas that wouldn't be the case with the others. Essentially I want to be able to check the bottle in situ, anytime when I'm all packed up, not crouching under the bed extension and needing hot water off the stove.

Your situation may be different but the pen ticks all the boxes for me, unless your choice could also check the water level in my poly tank (the pen can't even detect water level in a stainless steel kettle so it's LPG only)
