Rhino racks 70% off
« on: November 29, 2016, 07:58:24 AM »
Not sure if anyone has posted this before or how long Rhino have been doing it but if you let them have your car (must be listed as one they want) for either fitting or a photo shoot they give you 70% off a set of racks for it.
The list is quite long and is covers all ages of vehicles.
Handy if you live in Sydney and have a vehicle they want.
Hopefully it might be of benefit to someone here.

Yeah, they have used my PB Challenger a number of times.

Ended up with racks, basket  & bag.

It helps that I live in they same suburb as their head office in NSW  ;D, 'cause a couple of times I got a call asking if they could use the car the next day.

They always treat the car well, and return it after a wash and a full tank of Diesel.

Cheers

I work around the corner from them and have done this as well. Didn't get the full tank of fuel though but got a bargain on their product.

Didn't get too far down the list there mate???

Ranger, Colorado, D-max, MU-X, BT-50, LC200, LC70, Prado 150.....
Guessing there'd by 1 or 2 people in there looking for some racks.  ???

Or is just 'cause they don't want any Patrols.   :'( :-*

I used to work a couple of doors down from their head office and a few years ago I picked up a really, really cheap half width basket that was left over from a photo shoot. The guy was sick of moving it in and out from the front door everyday, pretty much gave it to me so he didn't have to touch it any more.
Pity they closed the shopfront at this office, no more ex-demo/ex-display bargains to be got from there anymore.

yea  true, I bet they sell 10's of thousands for ALFA ROMEO, CITRĂ–EN, DAEWOO, DODGE Caliber  etc....let alone FIAT Panda, LINCOLN Navigator and MAHINDRA XUV500.. or RENAULT Kangoo, and a massive calling for SKODA Roomsters

Haha, yeah there are a few oddballs in there.

But it should be noted that only the cars they want for photo shoots get the heavy discounted items. And I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it's only on the specific rack that they use for their photos (as in they don't remove it after they're finished).
So if you are lucky enough to get your car picked, I'm pretty sure you don't get a choice.
If they want a photo of a steel rack on your car and you want to buy an alloy one, too bad.

It was a few years ago since I spoke to the guys in there and I could have misunderstood them at the time.
But 70% off is nothing to be sneezed at even if it's not exactly the specific product that you had in mind.

Ha Ha,
They used my truck a few years ago.

When I went back to get it they were very evasive, eventually they fessed up, they had scratched the roof as the numpty writing the instructions said cut the plastic channels in the roof.

Got a shed load of gear at a cracking price, and a scratch on the roof.

That said, Rhino Rack gear is awesome.

And they updated the fitting instructions.

I wanted the HD bars to clamp to my north/south rails in silver. That is what they fitted and photographed and was put on their website. Once I got the car home and had a good look over it I decided I wanted black bars and longer length. Took it back the next day and got them swapped for nix.
