Eeerm, reading that back now, I really should clarify. By 'Victorian' I was referring to the British era not south eastern Australian geography. and by 'public school' I was again referring to the British definition, not the Australian. But if the shoe fits the Mexican male foot, he can wear it hahaha 

For the record though, north west Sydney public school (the Australian definition).

Lcool has the worst search facility ever.
Returns so many irrelevant results it would be quicker to get your cat to pick a random thread while blindfolded.

sounds like you need to read the tutorial on using the search function...lol...though I do agree.

funny thing is after I left that forum...when another mod I know confronted that power hungry mod about what he'd been doing to my posts, said mod said that I'd come back to the forum once I'd cooled down...ahh no I haven't. I did go back briefly just to start deleting my old trip reports from that forum, but power hungry mod saw what I was doing and locked me out.

Many years ago I was on Overlander forum, but then over the years a couple of serial posters who could only be described as trolls ruined the place.

It’s a shame because when I first joined it was a good forum and a wealth of information.  Mind you I did visit a couple of months ago and in 6 months between visits they didn’t even have 1 page of new posts.

It wasn't any individuals fault or set of individuals. Overlander just lost it's relevance. bit like the mag it was attached to. it had 10 good years

I think I migrated from LCOOL to Landcruiserclub.net instead - OK, more of a UK bias, but there are quite a few Aussies there now, as well as some other nationalities. Some characters there that have started out as mates, but are now no longer...

I remember couple of years ago googling I found a thread on what I was looking for on Exploroz which I hadn't been there in 5+ yrs at the time - and I got a warning for putting WTF in the post when asking for the OP of the archived post if he found a solution...
Apparently I had 24 hours to change it.

Many forums are good when they are small then they get too big for their own good. This place has broken before and splintered into other forums and will happen again

I still follow LCOOL and still find lots of helpful info there, but agree the search function is crap.  Worst site for rude users is Exploroz I think. Use to help with answering the occasional question but got sick of being critizied for only being a visitor!  Have not been back.  MySwag is still the best by a long way.  Kevin

I can't go on the site and show you, but all you had to do was change one criteria in the search function and it let you search for specifics instead of a vague idea of what you wanted..

They make more annoying noises than a toddler toy. I ended up disconnecting the chime in the right front guard. Drove me nuts every time I opened the tailgate.
Not sure if it has a useful reason for existence but I'm not missing it.
