Spreader Bars - Galvanized vs Aluminium
« on: November 09, 2016, 10:37:10 AM »
Hi

Will be setting up a tarp for 4 weeks over Christmas and just need to purchase a few spreader bars.

Can get galvanized ones for $16.95 each:

https://www.tentworld.com.au/buy-sale/supa-peg-galvanised-spreader-275cm

Or, aluminium ones for $27.50 each:

https://www.tentworld.com.au/buy-sale/supa-peg-aluminium-spreader-bar-275cm

Is aluminium better or does it not really matter?

Thanks

Aluminium is certainly lighter and they don't rust. I've swapped all my steel poles for ally.
Cheers, John.

Not sure, but I got quite a shock when I searched "spreader bars" on Ebay................apparently there is a whole category of "devises for adults" on there called spreader bars  :o
