caravan scam in weekend paper - BEWARE!!!!
« on: November 07, 2016, 12:59:55 PM »
Hey guys, so in saturdays or sundays paper classifieds (courier mail) i saw a 2013 jayco swan outback for $11,500. knew straight away it was a scam or typo so called as otherwise it would have eaten me up thinking i may have missed the bargain of a lifetime.

called and left a voicemail. got a text this morning asking for my email address to send pictures. sent through the attached.

Anyway then I email back and say yes I am keen, where is it located so I can inspect prior to paying. received this. BEWARE they are hitting courier mail now as well as online. I will report it to the cops.

Even had the balls to send through a PPSR, wonder who's van that actually is and if he just wrote down someones licence plate on their van!

This is his email to me.

The caravan is now at Amazon Global Shipping Australia warehouse, in Rivervale WA, (please go on: http://www.amazonglobal.com.au-en.info/  to read more about them), all packed and ready for shipping, it was taken there to be kept in storage after I left the country.
I want the transaction to be handled trough Amazon Payments because they offer protection both for buyer and seller and you can inspect the caravan. You will make the payment to Amazon Global and they will keep the money in a secure account until you will receive and inspect the caravan. You will have a 5 days to inspect it. If the caravan is not as described it will be shipped back on my expense and Amazon Global will give you a full refund. This way, you will be able to inspect it before committing to buy it and I know that you have the money and you aren't just fooling around.

In order to move forward you will need to SET UP A TRANSACTION with Amazon Global on: http://www.amazonglobal.com.au-en.info/transaction/  using my reference number: 6B966CD844. After that they will send you the instructions on how to safely make the payment to them.

Amazon Global Shipping Australia Main Warehouse:
27-33 Cleaver Terrace, Rivervale WA 6103, Australia
Phone: (08) 6102 5151
Amazon Web Services Australia Head Office:
12/55 Hunter Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia
Phone: 1 300 348 191

Just for the hell of it I rang that number (local call) Phone: (08) 6102 5151 ...  and it went straight to a message bank.
Might try again tomorrow to see if I can arrange an inspection, as a mate from interstate or somewhere is interested in buying it

I pity the person that one day gets the offer of a lifetime, has to drop everything and travel overseas. Drops there camper/caravan off at a storage place and then can't sell it because he's a scammer 😄

In 2012 I had 6 weeks to leave, and that was after a trip over to NZ and coming back on a tourist visa instead of the working holiday visa after another visa fell through, and we still had 2 cars right up until about a week before we flew out! The only downer was I didn't know I would have been back in 13 months, otherwise I wouldn't have sold them... we ended up selling one car 2 days before we left, which then involved a friend dropping the car off to the buyer; must have looked dodgy as.

Surprisingly a reverse image search didn't show up where they lifted the images from. Probably listed on a FB buy and sell as I don't think Google reverse image search works for images in FB.

I had a play & looked at the address given in Cleaver St.

Strangely enough, rather than an international freight depot, it appears to be an indoor trampoline centre!  >:D
