Mounting two 4Kg gas bottles
« on: November 06, 2016, 04:19:34 PM »
Hi all. I hope someone wiser than me can help. I am building a little pop up camper ("World's Slowest Build") and am just doing the rough-in plumbing, wiring, air and gas.
I have question on+ securing the gas bottles for NSW regulations?
Can I simply use off-the-peg LPG bottle brackets securely mounted? Or do I have to have a circular shape to prevent the base of the bottle from sliding?
I can;t find anything in the regs but seem to remember someone mentioning this.

For compliance in NSW you are installing to AS 5601; 2004
if it was in Qld you need to follow AS 5601; 2013 Part 2
Not sure about all other states except for Vic is same as Qld
I would need to check the difference between editions but that would be tomorrow as they are on my USB which is at work.
But to be safe yes a full ring but as you need a gas compliance certificate your gas fitter will have the answers, as yes the bottle holders are his responsibility.
