This one opposite us at Burnett Heads CP.
Very pretty ‘66 Stang towing a Sunliner van from the late 50’s.

Top one : Consul Capri ?   second one : Triumph 2000 or 2500 ...     Triumph Herald .. right

Top one is a Consul Classic, the four door version of the Capri. Had a raked back rear screen like an Anglia.

Think you are right on the other two. The hard top on the Herald is a pretty rare sight. The top doesn't actually look quite right for a factory fit coupe. There's something else blue lurking in the same bush as the Consul along with a doorless Mercedes and several others. I couldn't get close enough to investigate further.

One of the  first cars I looked at buying when I got my licence was a Triumph Herald, spoke to a couple of older blokes about it and got told to steer clear of them ..  Something about being known for rear suspension failures in a corner causing crash's or having a front end crash causing the forwards tilt forwards bonnet to come back through the windscreen and taking your head off ..
Ended up with a Cortina 440 instead .

Took the old girl out for a run to a local agricultural show. She remained remarkably cheerful considering she was on gate duty.

By chance there was a Consul Classic there. just caught him before he drove off.

There was an eclectic mix of other stuff there, ranging from a 3 litre Bentley to a Mach 1 Mustang and a late model Aston Martin Vantage.

Two old tracked Fowler tractors caught my eye in a sea of grey Fergies and Fordsons.

Anybody know what on Earth this trailer could be used for? Attached to the back of a WW2 era Bedford truck.

That Land Rover ruins a very good shot right there.

So you get out, open the gate, then make the hornbag other half get out, just so you can get a photo of her in a tight top and a short skirt.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.  :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: :-* :-* :-* :-* ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Almost correct. She opened the gate, about twenty bloody gates actually... and I was merely trying to include a panoramic view of this (mostly) green and pleasant land.

Glad you liked it though. :D

I'd lay odds on that the trailer is from WW1 going by the wheels .. maybe an ammunition box or spares for  a gun carriage  spring to mind
EDIT : More than likely from an 18 pounder gun train from the 1930's going by the google pics ..

have you got a link to the Google pics? I've spent the last half hour searching but can't find anything.

It's a pity that the bloke who owned it wasn't around when I took the pic.

Peter Brock's first Bathurst drive is up for auction
The car that launched the career of motor racing legend Peter Brock at the iconic Mount Panorama circuit is headed for auction.

Fifty years ago a young Brock – racing for the Holden Dealer Team – drove a HT Monaro GTS 350 to third place in the Bathurst 1000 endurance race.

Brock went on to win event nine times – earning him the nickname 'King of the Mountain'.

GraysOnline will auction the car at 4.30pm on Friday, September 20. The closing bid will be at 8.35pm on Wednesday, September 25.

The Monaro has been painstakingly restored and includes the driving legend's 1969 livery. Since its restoration in the mid 2000s, the vehicle has been displayed at the Peter Brock Experience on the Gold Coast.
"This car is a genuine piece of Australian auto sports classic memorabilia. We expect a lot of interest from collectors and motorsport enthusiasts alike," said Chris Corbin, CEO at GraysOnline.
The sale will include full vehicle documentation including the CAMS log book.

Unfortunately, no. It was only in the next village though, organised by the Boddington Vintage Association so it won't be too hard to find someone who does know. I know what you mean about that trailer. I've spent a good few hours now searching with every combination of key words I can think of and come up with nothing. On the plus side, I do know a lot more about 18 pounder guns and their limbers though. Lots  in Australia.

I don't think there necessarily any connection (apart from physical) between the truck and trailer though. I'll have a look through some pics I took at previous shows and see if it's in those. I don't remember it though.
