Strange way to treat a monaro.
https://www.facebook.com/XposedTeam/videos/1977448502325189/

Never been to a Hot Rodders Dust Up meet then? Seen that done to a Monaro here, along with various Falcons, Holden's and Chryslers from the 1940s to the 1970s. Oh, and for good measure someone was running a truck as well...

You'd hope it was genuine....

An iconic Holden Commodore raced by Peter Brock has set a new auction record for Australian-made cars.

The Marlboro-branded VH Commodore delivered back-to-back Bathurst 1000 victories for Brock in 1982 and 1983, making it one of the most iconic models in Australian motor sport.

Lloyds Auctions sold the car for a record $2.1 million on Saturday.

Bill Freeman, head auctioneer at Lloyds, said “the amount paid for this car doesn’t surprise me with its rich history and shows that the market is strong and is continuing to grow”.

this is pretty tough for a street car. I'd like to see it run without the weight bolted on the front.  ;D

It seems they would be  a pretty rare thing to find ..  ... at least in Australia .. South Africa and something to do with JURGENS .. built there    https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4975482
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaChka7rgog

The owner of the original Moonraker XD was in Whittlesea Vic. I used to see it around in the mid 90's.

Built by Ford as a movie promo car and given away on the Don Lane show. According to a few FB XD-F pages.

Ok, so it was just one they built or did they do maybe a limited run of them for the average punter to buy?

Not much info on this on google huh.
It looks very much, like a one of one car and I can tell ya now, there is no chance in hell its just up the road from here.

I'll follow it up, but I reckon its a waste of time and fuel.

Having said that, unless its been scrapped, it has to be somewhere I guess.

I always assumed it was a one off build.  A couple a FB posts indicated the car was up Rockhampton way in the mid 00's.  A mock up perhaps?

It was featured on Shannons Man and Machine a few years ago.

https://www.shannons.com.au/club/video/barry-mcilwaine-collection-episode-7-series-3-man-and-machine/

Around the 14 minute mark.

I never said it was a pretty XD..... but would be worth solid money to a Ford collector.

I posted off a small, and I mean, small piece of Dick Johnsons Greens Tuff Falcon to Sydney today, so people will buy anything.
I've been carrying this thing for friggin years, so off she goes.

Anyone wanna guess a price?

Quote
There are only three Ford Falcon GTHO Phase IV’s left in the world.

And, this weekend, one will be auctioned off on the Gold Coast by Lloyd’s auctions.

Auctioneers and muscle car experts reportedly anticipate the car will reach a record-breaking $3 million, eclipsing the $2.1million paid recently for a Holden Commodore raced by the legendary Peter Brock.

Ford only built four Phase IV models before the ‘Super Car scare’ ended production in 1973. Set to be raced by Allan Moffatt and Fred Gibson, the models were abandoned after being deemed too dangerous for registered road use.

Interesting another article says it was banned from the road?

'One of only four “Phase IV” Falcon GT-HOs goes under the hammer this weekend, almost 50 years after politicians banned it from the road. '

Ford  put four cars together, Soo the majority of the 496 left over parts kits for the Homologation cars, you would think,  would  have gone into production special order cars. Making them all in essence Phase 4 spec cars but only listed as a GT special order on paper
Going through a lot of stuff on the Phase 4 it seems only one of the Phase 4 cars [ The Green one from memory ] is stamped as a GTHO .
Be interesting know why Bowdens are selling this one [ Think they were the last owners of it ] and to see the final $$

Bowdens aren’t selling their phase 4...the other one that was not finished by Fords racing division is the one that is being sold I believe.

From memory majority of the PH4 parts were randomly fitted by Ford to various XA GTs with option RPO83 stamped on the build tag.

I'd love to know what the Calypso green one would sell for if it ever hit the market?

I wonder if the Sydney dentist will ever sell it?

Saw somewhere that the wrecked one has been or in the process of being rebuilt too .
