I would think 13k, as we have a JB Scorpion caravan for our touring holidays but as we live in Canberra the grand kids now love camping and we nick up the Brindies a fair bit.
so this is a secondary type of fun vehicle we could also use for the Vic High Country and areas close by.

I did see a video of a trailer from Vic a while back, not sure if it was you tube and it looked pretty good value, it had a fella showing off the trailer and a couple of kids also helping out

Trev
I see some of them as very expensive for what they are...
Some of them are not much more than a 2500-3000 trailer with a 1500-2000 rooftop tent on em and a bit of work and charge 10k+....
others have a decent amount of work in em. TBH I haven't looked at them at all in the last 2-3 yrs as I have a trailer and it isn't my style, but maybe they have changed

YMMV

seriously thinking of replacing our CT fold out tent with one of these (or similar), as there is only the two of us;

I previously had a Ironman rooftop tent and currently have the BCF XTM hardtop rooftop tent.
Only reason I change is that the hardtop is stronger in the wind. I know that rooftop tents like the Hannibal is very strong, but the XTM was on special.

Between the two you mention Mace, I'll for the James Baroud.
The other one does not look that strong to me.

I've got one of these. I paid $12k
Honestly i think they are worth the 12 with the way they are decked out and finished. Mine is about 18 months old and its been to the desert and back a few times, a lot of skull dragging behind my cruiser- so far so good

Thanks Kev
Yep that's about what I am thinking, looks like you got a bargain, they are now from 17k, we want something to go camping with the grand kids and as we already have a van did not want to spend a lot.

Wild Boar campers also do a Tuff Grunt they are also about the same price as the predator.
If I spend that much I would go for the guardian campers SUV deluxe

Thanks for the info and safe travels

Get a decent trailer builder to build you an off road trailer ~$3k-$5k tops, add your own roof top tent - $1.5k-$3k. Or $4k for a James Baroud

Agree that you can do it on a budget just depends on your needs vs wants.
I got this company to build an off-road trailer more for general haulage when I was moving. Quality is good for the price, I paid $2000.just up the road from ACT at Campbeltown

I recently got one of these King RTT to put on another trailer that I am setting up for camping. For the price I am very happy. Works well $700

Was on a recent trip up the Oodnadatta track and was mightily impressed by the James Baroud on one of the trucks. Stood up to 35-40km winds one night  no problems.

What about southern cross trailers in penrith? You can get a fully independent off road trailer for under 10k easy and add a RTT :)
