Sydney 4wd show 2016
« on: October 03, 2016, 02:54:47 PM »
Will be in Sydney over the weekend of the show.
Did read the 2015 post but is was more about visiting on a Friday.

So, is it worthwhile or should I skip if.

I think it depends what you are after? There is lots to see and buy if you have the $$$. There are a few cheap items but you need an idea of prices. Plenty of discounts to be had with the big three letter companies.

Not sure if I read the web-site for the show correctly, but there are no public transport options to the show - like Brisbane or Melbourne shows.
I'll be in Sydney on foot, I have to take the train to Blacktown and then the bus. Bus stop is not near the show and the times is not 'show-friendly'
Sydney need to learn from Brisbane and Melbourne whom both have trains to their shows.

Anyway, will skip the show and go to Bondi or Cronulla

I have been to this type of show at the 3 states. Victoria venue at the horse track venue was good. Brisbane the only thing good about the venue is you can get the train. Otherwise it is all over the place in chook sheds, easy to miss displays if you take a wrong turn. Then when you buy the cheap engel fridge. The cheap side awning and the fishing rod you didn't need you can then easily get the train back home carrying all that gear.
But for me the standout venue is eastern creek raceway Sydney. For those that need a public transport fix you drive to the venue and park up the back and get the free shuttle bus up to the site!! I'll leave the train ride for getting to work thanks I want to drive to the venue and park amongst all those 4wds.
The Sydney venue includes the purpose built 4wd test track as used for training purposes by NSW 4WD association, well laid out in grid format displays, large marques and usually as a bonus some groups practicing on the race track or drag strip. Overall it is a most suitable venue located in the geographical centre adjacent to an east west motorway M4 and the north south motorway M7 so real easy access by car.

Walking through that carpark is almost as interesting as the show itself.

What area are you staying in? Maybe a swagger might pick you up and give you a lift there? If your nice, he/she might even give you a lift back.

I find that at nearly every show I go to... Me and Brett found that out this year at the Show Grounds.
I guess they have to just shove people in where they can to get the money out of exhibitors... the drones will just have to put up with it.

I reckon those car Parks should require that there's an explanation of Vehicle Mods, listed or displayed on the vehicle.

I was thinking the other way, RTA inspectors walking up and down the car park noting number plates for future harassment.
