New Camper
« on: September 21, 2016, 08:38:13 AM »
After years of dreaming the time is getting closer to bite the bullet and buy a camper and upgrade from tents.  I am looking at 2 this week a 2002 Jayco Swan and a 2000 Goldstream Gold Sovereign both look to be tidy units for around the same money.  Obviously I wont know much until I get a closer look but after ideas on what to look for.

I'm with you. Picking up a 2009 Swan Outback this afternoon. My cub now for sale.

Had a look at 2 local over the weekend a 2009 (late) and 2010.

Checked underneath to see that the suspension and other 'stuff' looked OK with no obvious damage. Cursory I know but needs to be done.

Need to get the use history. Had both opened up. Both looked fine and the 2010 had air conditioning - the 2009 has a built in solar panel and inverter. Some cosmetic damage and 1 stabiliser wouldn't work on 2010. The 2009 was in immaculate condition and the owners were very forthcoming and included a TV antennae and TV. Never been off the bitumen.

First trip away is starting on Monday. Expect to spend 4 weeks in Queensland.

Chester,  I looked at yours and unfortunately my budget won't stretch that far.  Ended up getting a 2001 Coromal Magnum 420 in much better condition to the other two I had looked at.
