Hi Straydog 76,
I was lucky enough to pick one up very cheaply a number of years ago. It is a fantastic trailer. They rarely come up for sale, if you see one grab it you won't be disappointed.

regards

As mentioned, they are usually hard to find. The military seem to use different trailers now, so you're probably stuck with what is out there in private hands.
I was lucky & picked one up from the auctions here when the RAAF got rid of them.
The auctions they seemed to go for between about $1800 to $2500.
One forum I read reckoned they can go for up to $4-$5000 privately.

Fantastic trailer. Almost indestructable & tows like a dream.
The reality is that the tub is a bit small, but you can make it work.

Track used to make a civilian version but was like $14 K
They can be heavy too. Affects capacity if not using brakes
There is also three models of Track camper based on this box trailer. Great design but holding prices considering age now.
Eagle, Mirage and Oasis.

There are still a few kicking around. I went past a transport yard today and there were a few 2 and 4 wheel versions parked up. Depending under what project equipment was procured, some units get directed to hand their gear in and it gets sold off early, others seem to hang onto it forever.... hence the 1964 box trailers finally being sold off.

I had a mate that was in ground equipment maintenance and they had a bunch of trailers in the transport compound for use on exercises and when a war kicked off. Each year the bearings would get a re-pack and he swore that most of the trailers only ever got towed the 200m from the workshop to the transport yard and back again the following year.
Not exactly a hard life for a trailer
