I'm going for a squiz on Saturday with a mate who's just bought a new Triton and looking for some gear. I will just help him spend his money.

Going Saturday
Have a shopping list for the FJ & looking at camper set ups as we want to upgrade
Time for some price vs quality comparisons
So far we have had a ball in our $4k 2nd hand soft top without any major breakages soooo, what do you upgrade to?
Should be fun listening to all the BS

Didn't make it in today. Even though my visit was work-related, far less interesting work got in the way. Probably tomorrow.

Pity all the exhibitors in the outside areas. Good test of waterproofing though!

Went and had a look today. Stunt bikes got cancelled. Sussed out the Quattro. Wife and i liked it very much.  Would suit now with kids and later on........then she saw the Evoke!!!!  All i can say is she may need to find a job paying quite a bit more.  Managed to see the outside stuff before the rain really started to fall

Went today as well, and to be blunt, found the show to be pretty lack lustre this year...

Highlight of the show was meeting Nick and checking out the Quattro... Everything else was pretty uninspiring...

All the so called specials were at least 5-10% more than you can find them retail...

now I know why I don't bother with these shows...
what a ****in waste of effort they are..

Operation Bretto was a success...

We met up with Nick at Regional campers, Swannie knew where all bargains were.. also a few mates working at various companies (some maybe handy to remember  ;D) and a also few club members etc.

the show specials were at a normal level.. ARB's stall apparently cost them 100k+ ??? ??? ??? no wonder there are no specials!

We went on Saturday, without a doubt the worst one so far.
I've always loved these shows, not for getting specials but just I have a look and get some ideas.
This time we just kept walking and nothing caught our eye, very disappointed after walking for miles and then lining up in 2 que's just to get in the door.
The only good thing, our son Ryan got to meet Jason from All for adventure and a quick photo with him and he was a very happy little fella.

I don't think we will go to another 4x4 show again, the caravan show has much more to see, so better value for my mind.

the ultimate insult I thought is charging stall holders to park!! AND for the concrete blocks to hold their tent ropes up ... $10.. EACH!!!!

Rumour was they charged ARB 100k for their stall... that's just ****ed

I enjoyed the show a few years back, but unless you're going to compare campers perhaps, or caravans, in the flesh, I think it's largely a waste of time. With social media, forums, etc there's so much to learn and find out in the net that the appeal of a show is now quite diminished.

I was there today, arrived at 9:30. Walked straight in.

We had a good look around chatted to a few blokes I ran into.

A good way to fill in the day.

I didn't go there looking for anything.

Didn't buy anything.

Cheers
