No experience with it but as an alternative http://www.evakool.com/factory-seconds/fridges-factory-second/65-litre-tmx-fridge-freezer-second, works out $175 more (factoring shipping) but comes with a cover and a 5yr (as opposed to one) warranty.

Now have 2.
Originally bought 1 and have run it continuously for about 6 months - both at home as a beer fridge and when camping on 12v The new one runs as a freezer for longer trips.
Pretty sure it's a rebadged Waeco CF60 (which Waeco don't make anymore).
Printed off the 2 instruction manuals and they are word for word the same.
Picked up some Waeco transit bags off gumtree although I now note Kings have their own bags available (gumtree was considerably cheaper ;D)
The Kings were recently subject to a partial recall - but so were the Waeco CF40 &50's.
For $589 to the door even with only a 1 year warranty I think its good value.

The Adventure Kings AKF60 Portable Compressor Fridge/Freezer sold at 4WD Supacentre has been recalled.
Adventure Kings AFK60 portable fridge recalled
The Adventure Kings AFK60 portable fridge which has been recalled.
The fridge has been found to have a controller failure which may cause the fridge to stop working and could cause a fire.

It has been officially recalled by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

RECALLED MODEL
Adventure Kings AKF60 Portable Compressor Fridge/Freezer with the serial number:

330460 163700001 to 330460 163700500
330460 164000001 to 330460 164000500
330460 164200001 to 330460 164200570

The recalled model was sold in 4WD Supacentre stores all around Australia between October 1, 2016 and November 15, 2016.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?
People who own an AFK60 should disconnect the fridge from its power source and stop using it immediately.

Owners should then return the product to their nearest Dometic service agent (acting on behalf of Mobicool International) for repair.

Owners can find their nearest service agent by calling 1800 21 21 21 (Mon-Fri 8am-5pm EST), or by emailing qldservice@dometic.com.au

The recall follows a recent recall of the Waeco CF-40 and CF-50 portable fridges for a controller failure earlier this week.

I would have to guess that the one been sold now are the newer ones and are not subject to recall.

They are a bloody good price though.

I got my fridge from these guys

http://www.6thgear.com.au/Downloads/6th%20Gear%20-%20Retail%20Fridge&Freezer%20Pricing.pdf

They give a discount for cash. I think I paid $550 all up for the D50 with bag. It's a bit smaller than the kings, but hasn't caught fire on me lol.

I think it's probably more a case of copied as opposed to rebadged, There have been a lot of identical fridges released under different brands, Aldi included. There are some cheaper versions available on eBay as well, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/55L-LUMIK-Portable-Freezer-Fridge-12V-24V-240V-Camping-Car-Boat-Caravan-Cooler-/191501362666?hash=item2c965ee5ea:g:n9EAAOSwtJZXVL~w

I don't think the Waeco cf range was all that efficient so I am guessing the copies would be the same so depending on how you use it it might be worth taking into consideration.

edit, I still think the Evakool I linked too is better value.

Don't Dometic make the waeco fridges also ??? so may its more like re product placement than re-baged or copied

Looks like both Waeco and mobicool are both subsidiaries of (bought out by) the dometic group. Doesn't really shed too much light onto it, you would, however, expect that they would at least share some information, possibly even as you say pump out the older/lesser models under the cheaper brand name.
