Political Correctness - Appropriate or Not
« on: July 12, 2016, 08:10:39 PM »
Watching several interesting news shows tonight and it's left me in a state of confusion about what is correct, what is honest, what is culture and what is appropriate.  Seems like many areas I may have been taught about standards, discipline and respect as a child and into adulthood is no longer acceptable and I may need to go back to school or just keep my mouth shut.  The latter obviously a real challenge.
So in an effort to be somewhat appropriate, here's a joke about nothing.

Too cold outside, and to be a little sensitive new age, I'm sitting with my girlfriend watching masterchef. Apparently it's a show about cooking, but what's with the dude that wears the odd suits. I say odd as in different to the others. Or are the other two the odd ones. Or is odd not appropriate?

..............................................................

My Alphabet varied gender persons of social intercourse include quite a few semi colons, questions marks and upward pointing vees, you must have something against them as they are not mentioned in your callous redneck joke, why is it that people like you can only see something humourous in full stops, or non gender dots, not referring to any person called dot as I have known one dot in my life and he/she/it was socially acceptable in my socio/econo set of friends...........

Saw those clowns on The Panel carrying on about him tonight...Price was right about that woman on the ABC show over reacting. PC correct brigade gone mad the lot of them on both those shows, nothing more then a bunch of people looking for a reason to be offended about what someone has said or done ::) they draw a pretty long bow supporting their argument when linking Eddie's recent comments with domestic violence IMHO, especially that guys sister who was hacked with a meat cleaver by her husband.

If referring to the current round of PC BS surrounding the comments made about Caroline Wilson, I call it all nothing them brown nose point scoring by twisting stories around so no facts are supporting their version of events they are relying on to sprout their PC BS.

If as alleged the original comments were made about Caroline Wilson were made by her colleagues on air and with her present and joining in on the joke and can only finish it by saying "Oh boys", but yet no one has demanded any apologies and no one has refered to anyone being violent, sexist, misogynist or any other derogatory comment, even to or about Wilson for being part of it.

For anyone wishing to make comment about any conversation Eddie McGuire was present for can not say anything until they first say the exact same thing about the conversation Wilson had herself with her colleagues.

People are just jumping on it for their own personal advantage and doing so without fact or moral.  If Wilson can joke about the original comments made in her presence then she and everyone else should take the McGuire comments in the same vain.
Cheers

When you know better, you do better.   That's what is derisively called "political correctness".   Jokes and derogatory labels like "hysterical", poofta and nigger are all used to keep minorities in their place.   If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

No doubt.
To remain politically correct one would not "do better" until at least the third date.
Logically one would first have to know better.
