Any Lloyd Spiegel fans on here? Currently on a tour of Oz. If there is a better home grown Blues artist currently doing the rounds please let me know.

I only came across him the other day while researching Cole Clark guitars.

I can't believe I'd never heard of him before! His uTube vids are on repeat constantly now.

Is his studio stuff just as good? I might have to pick up an album or two.

His live double album is AWESOME. Live performance is even better. He deserves to be a superstar.

Unfortunately now... if I buy a Cole Clark I just won't be able to do it anywhere near the justice Lloyd does!

He is playing this Friday night in a tiny little venue here in Orange, NSW. Would be awesome to see him.

we stayed at tilba about a year ago and had dinner at the tilba pub on the Friday night. one of the regulars, and none of them seemed to care that we weren't, suddenly appeared at the bar beside us and held up a cd at us asking if we minded if he put it on - it was Lloyd Spiegel's 'tangled brew' and we've been hooked on it ever since. tangled brew is more beer garden music over his other albums and we weren't expecting the amazing blues played at the Canberra blues club last December (well, the association's meeting digs) and were just as impressed with the visiting American gent he had touring with him as well (tim moyer)

I was driving somewhere one day about a year ago and the only channel I could get on the wireless was the ABC, Lloyd Speigal just happened to be the featured artist for the segment I was listening too and I was hooked. In my opinion he his one of the great Aussie blues artists. But not only his blues music, but his other acoustic work is just as great to listen to.
I think he is the ambassador for one of the custom acoustic guitar makers (not sure which one).

If it's acoustic blues music you like, another one to listen to is George Kamikawa. Saw him busking at Tindal Beach markets and walked away with 2 of his CD's after watching him perform for a couple of hours. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEOI60AyhSg

If it's pure acoustic guitar greatness your after, check out this Italian dude doing some covers of other bands songs- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ok5d8nXAngw

Hadn't heard of him before but now I am hooked.  Gotta see him when he is in Melbourne.  What a superstar!!!!!

I am happy to listen to great guitarists even though they make me despair of my miniscule talent.  :'( :'( :'(
