Now, as a proud Queenslander, I'd like to see NSW win a couple to re-ignite the series.

At the moment though, NSW is so bad at it, even if our guys play at half strength like last night, NSW still can't win.  ::)

Geez, we gave 'em a series win to try to help 'em out a couple of years ago, because if our guys did it 10 on the run, everyone gets bored. (Especially out players)

Oh well, NSW can always hope that QLD doesn't turn up for the next two games I suppose.
Mind you, they'd probably still lose even then.

I wondered who'd be the first Roach to blame the refs for their loss, looks like it was Laurie Daley  ::) ::)

One thing I always hate seeing is dangerous illegal play like some wanna be lifting the knees when about to be tackled.
Should be an immediate sin bin.

I was wondering if I was the only one who thought Klemmer lifted his knees into Morgan, looked like he got collected right in the jatz.

Agree, there has been for too many years an imbalance of strength, determination and culture that if not fixed soon will see viewers walk, which will then affect sponsorship, and like it or not, it's all about the money......

Last night was a lacklustre performance from NSW and the Qld'rs barely raised a sweat. If there's a repeat performance in game 2, the crowds will walk and so will many corporate box sponsors.

Too right he did & it wasn't the first time Klemmer did it it in the game!

Was it Gallen who was steamrolled by Myles in the first 2 seconds of the game, for shielding players? It was only marginally on screen, but I'm positive it was  ;D Made me chuckle.

I agree with Scraps
The absolute absence of skill displayed in that game was breath taking
No wonder people are walking to other codes

At best, if I am lucky, I get to watch 3 sport matches per year.
Origin
I must say that over the years it is getting bad, this business of holding the game up with the rules being nutted out is helping me lose all interest.
Yes I know a game can be swayed by a decision which is good or bad, but at least then it was interesting, you'd have a mob of blokes a bit un-happy take it to the other guys as they were pumped.
Now
They stand around for so long waiting for what ever, then when they start up there is no momentum any more.
Bring back the biff, and lose the lawyers I say.

Oh
And 9 should have a 2nd channel running with Roy and HG commenting. That would make it interesting.

yeah we were making comment about Klemmer at work this morning with his knee lifting runs. Whilst that running style isn't responsible for how Morgan got knocked out, it definitely is something the refs should have cracked down on.

yep and then Gallen went chasing after him after that also...lol

typical first Origin match...lower scores and mostly about defence more then attack. Other codes wish they had a spectacle like the Origin, it's a massive ratings winner on the telly.

Yep. I'm gone. Only wasted half the game watching it last night. Won't make the same mistake in a few weeks.

Living in SA for 11 years ive seen a big change here....normally if there is not a SA sprortsperson in a match some where then you usually will never hear about it...but to channel nine credit it is now on tv free to air...year ago i had to run up to the pub and watch it....

The locals love it too and pick a side to win also...so its gaining favor each year....
Last night was a bit boring but it had its moments

My only complaint about origin is the dubbing effect??????
They turn up the mics when they rush forward and turn them down again during the tap....ita down right bloody annoying

Cant believe all the left handed, whale hugging leso's whinging about Sam Thaidays comment.
Thought it was quite funny, but also pretty accurate description of the game.

Cheers Glen

It's ok, there's been a meeting here in Mexico today to see if a joint sporting code working group can come up with an idea to save the day. So you'll be pleased to know we're sending Travis Cloke up to play for Qld'rs in game 2
