G'Day,
         I went into search mode on these and i found some mention on theses quite some time ago ( hope my research was ok ) I'm wondering if anyone can report any issues ..either positive or negative on the 3.5 t model.... not weight dis. type....my CT is all i tow......Electric brakes ....

I have one.  Absolutely awesome.  Never had an issue hooking up or unhitching on uneven ground.  No maintenance other than a squirt with the grease gun for the universal every so often.  Back up with the camera, lower the jockey wheel, job done.  Far easier than the poly block or standard 50mm tow ball.

You can get them as an auto coupler now too.  Couple of members on here rave about them.

   Is there any issues with the tug side of these hitches....I'v run the tape over my existing poly hitch...no drama there .....any comment  ?   and what about going from Mchitch to 50mm ball for my boat ?

When I changed to the McHitch, it just bolted onto the tongue in the same way the 50mm ball did.  Nut and spring washer.  My tow tongue is just a standard Hayman Reece tongue.  I also have a box trailer but have two tongues, one with the McHitch pin and one with a ball.  Neither stay on the tug and only get slipped in when needed.

This is what I use for my off road caravan. Easy to couple up (not as many fights) and goes anywhere.

Given the new (2nd hand) CT is an off-roader, the first mod was to replace the standard ball hitch with this.



Only new to the game, so no practical experience with it, but looks nice :)

I've been threatening to get the auto coupler model for a while. One of my concerns is we occasionally find ourselves overnighting somewhere and I need to Unhitch to lift the a frame high enough to level but I don't actually disconenct anything else just lift the hitch directly up off the ball. So I guess with a Mchitch I need to move forward by ?? 100mm??

      Yea Jim..i never thought of that....but it appears so easy to detach and hook up i don't think it would be an issue ...Just my thoughts  !

Doe's anyone know if there is suppliers around the country ....or do you buy them direct from the manufacturer ??

Not necessarily. The hitch has a heap of articulation, I haves raised the van more than 100mm to level and left it attached.

Buy it direct from mchitch, he is a top bloke & you will get it in a couple of days, gets some nylock bolts off him as well

I've got one and I have had a bit of trouble hitching back up again with it, ie locking the long thingy in to the hole thingy. But I have since called mchitch about it and was told I'm doing it wrong :) apparently I have to have the yellow handle down when about to hitch back up. Haven't used the camper since discovering this so cant comment on if that fixed the issue yet. Also Brickie Matt worked out that there was a lot of dirt getting into a moving part which also stopped the mechanics of it from working.

Looking at these and the Hyland again. How are they going? Biggest avantage to the Hyland is keeping the ball?

Maybe have a look at the ARK hitch. Big and robust. Uses a 3.5 tonne 50mm ball (supplied).. The thing I like about it is that it is very low profile, and the hitch sits on the ball, but pulls from the base of the ball. That means there is just about zero leverage transfered from the ball to the tongue..

I just don't trust anything Ark TBH. It's just all knock off Chinese crap and always seems to be 60-70% of the quality of what it's copied.

I have two mchitchs, one auto, one not. Love both, never changing.

Also Adam from GreenRV here on my swag is a dealer with great prices! If you need one hit him up!
