Morning all.
  First time posting on this forum so I apologise if I break any rules/etiquettes. 
We have just has our first weekend away in our new 1997 Jayco swan outback and there are a couple of questions that I could do with answering.
1)   When I had everything set up and was having a light refreshment I noticed that the metal roof supports were not vertical.  It was my first drink, so that wasn’t the reason and the supports were only out by a couple of degrees. Does this matter?
2)   The 3 way fridge did not work very well on the gas.  Do I need to have this serviced?
3)   The van is not very clean with quite a bit of mould/mildew both inside and out.  I have read that 30 second cleaner is good for the interior as long as I keep it away from the stitching.  Is this the best thing, and what about the outside?
I know this is a lot to ask about in one post but looking forward to our next trip and so want to get things sorted asap.

Did you have the fridge down to temp before you left?   3 way fridges can take a while to drop down to temp, so running it up the night before so it gets down cold tends to be a good idea.  As does making sure the contents are cold - ie, don't put warm beer in a warm fridge and expect it to chill down as fast as your home fridge.

I assume you checked the gas bottle wasn't empty!

but like the elevators you happily jump in they need to be serviced and maintained although it helps if they do their job properly in the factory first ;)

Had the fridge running for a couple of days before we went away and was cold when we got there.  We do have a 5 year old but managed to keep her from opening the doors as much as possible.

Just be aware your 3 way runs flat out on 12v off the alternator while travelling (ie the thermostat setting makes no difference) whilst gas and 240V the thermostat should work (mine is set on 4). Nevertheless they're not as efficient as compressor fridges which is why you chill them 24 hrs beforehand and load cold stuff in them. Gas avoids the need for expensive solar/battery setups for free camping if you're not doing that big time and most of us find water is the limiter in that regard.

q1 The cables may not be adjusted causing roof to dip a little at a particular corner . Adjust cables [use a tape measure ] x 4 corners .Once this is done you can then see if the canvas is stretched sagging etc etc
For eg mine I also need to space the top with washers so the roof sits in the closed   position properly
Worn out plastic guide  bushes that are installed around your lifting posts 
The above can all influence how the top sits

some people use tie down ropes with light tension to prevent swaying /  help positioning

Fridge on gas
clean flu  and make sure it has the alloy steel snorkel so the heat can  exit the top of the flu out the top vent
clean/replace  jet
inspect for bright blue flame
inspect under van for crushed piping
check gas pressure at the back of fridge   [line or regulator fault ]  by gas guy
fridge seal condition
installation  must only be 25mm gap between back of fridge and camper wall . This allows the heat to travel up the back of the fridge for cooling purposes of other components
insulation

donot scrub to hard on canvas as it destroys the fibres
I have not done this yet but I cant image sugar soap could do any harm 
use Birkmyer =bradproof  for resealing ,, u can buy online or at Jayco dealer
Birkmeyer give great cleaning instructions also in PDF

G,Day and welcome .. On the bit to do with the roof leaning, have a look at the steel lift sections to see if the nylon bushes  are all intact or badly worn .
Did you have the awning roof up and the guy ropes pulled up tight ? as this can pull the roof of to that side aswell, can offset this by adding a couple of tie down points on the roof sides opposite side to the awning and guy rope it .

Thanks for the information guys and sorry for the slow reply, my internet was down all weekend.  I have printed off the service manual (Thanks Bird) and will have a good look this weekend to see how worn the mechanisms are.  The vents on the back of the fridge seem to be fixed in place with silicon sealant so will be a bit of a bigger job, will source a couple of computer fans before I tackle this and do the whole job in one go before I use silicone it fix it back into place.  When I attach the computer fans to aid cooling of the fridge should I use an on/off switch or have a thermostat?

In regard to the fridge, one aspect to be very careful of is how level the camper has been set up. If the camper is not level, it can affect the gas operation of the fridge a great deal.
