How can I record videos from a website? Not YouTube or Porn

We seem to have a bunch of tech savvy people and I hope to suck some know-how from someone.
My daughter purchased a rural property 45k from Rockhampton, and Telstra outright lied about it having internet access.
The complaint has been lodged with the Telecommunications Ombudsmans Office but that does not help for now.
The problem is she signed up membership with an International Horsemanship trainer who for $800 gives you access to his training videos on the net.
She can't get on the net to watch them, unless she goes into Rocky and spends hours at Macca's or some other free WiFi place.
We have a smart TV, and a Humax PVR.
The query, is it possible to play the videos from our computer to the TV through the HDMI cables or Google Chromecast or similar and record what is on the screen to the PVR, or do we have to set a video camera up in front of the TV and record onto the series and end up with a far from perfect result?
Any other suggestions?
She has her horse entered into a Brisbane Horse Archery clinic in June but needs to get some training done before that.
I suppose this is technically copyright if it works but as she has paid to watch them and they are not going to be sold or uploaded on YouTube, we are willing to take the small risk of legal challenges if it comes to it.

Some you may not be able to download even though you can watch them - depends how they are hosted.. if its Youtube - your laughing...

Try installing Firefox. then install this add on

I use it daily to download from Youtube.

you can also use this software to extract audio from videos as well, and save them as MP3's... handy when the young ones see a music video on youtube and want the music...

Yep, tried that last week. They couldn't give a rats butt and could not understand how Australia does not have internet access in places, but if not, it's not their problem.

I bought some video editing software called Corel Video Studio Pro that I use for videos.

Anyhow, one of the software features is the ability to record whatever is happening on the screen and turn it into an avi or mp4 file.

Could be worth a look.

Use this all the time...no problem with most web site....

For YouTube I use "Video Download Helper"  Even found some MySwag videos of the top end.....

I tried Open Broadcast Software.......no luck
I tried Fraps........................no luck
I tried Any Video Recorder.....and it worked. Just can't open anything else while it plays or you get something like Word real big in the middle of a video. Lesson learnt.
