Has anyone done one of these rallys??

What are the actual costs involved and preparation etc...

Love the concept, never done it.

I always wondered how you would get a RWC (victoria) for such a cheap vehicle

Some guys over on the Overlander forum organized one a few years back. They set a $3000 budget for a vehicle to get to the tip and back.

It was all very informal, most made it all the way home, some in better mechanical condition than others.

Would be a fun thing to do and as mentioned all for a good cause. Don't know if a beetle would be fun though...!

..and I've gotta say, it was one of the better trips I've ever done.  ;D Made heaps of new friends, and the satisfaction of keeping a Shitbox running for that length of time was immense.  :cup:

I know this might cause some issues but this might be a good buy for a rally
