Frostd & family heading for a tree change
« on: April 10, 2016, 04:06:59 PM »
Seven years ago, the Frostd family did a sea change, to Northern NSW and enjoyed  ;D the fruits of this fabulous place, including SE Qld  8).  We met alot of great swaggers at camps through the area and loved  ;D every minute of it.  Well now due to a transfer in work, we are headed for a tree change to the Blue Mountains 8). (Not very far from where we used to live)  I have taken up a position at a western Sydney location  :police: and looking forward to it.
I look forward to catching up with swaggers around Sydney and surrounds. Attempting new challenges and catching up with family we only see maybe once or twice a year.
For those friends on the north coast NSW/SE Qld, we wont be too far away and will continue to visit as tourists and hopefully share a beers or three around a camp fire telling tall stories. ;) ;)

Cheers everybody. Thank you. See you soon. ;D

We have recently have done the opposite and left the Blue Mts after 28 years and moved north. The things I miss include the garden and the variety of colours in the garden, the climate in summer and probably the winter along with the fire, ( won't miss the firewood duties). Being in the Mountains you will be within an hour of a lot of good spots to escape to.
Do you know where in the Mountains you will head to the, Gt Western hwy side or Bells line of Rd side which was where we where.

Rags,  We will be in and around the Springwood area. We know it well.  I'll be looking for all those little spots I never went before.

KB, not just a lateral movement, but will look at promotions in the near future.  It was certainly a pleasure working with you lot in SW Qld and Brisbane. ;)

Thanks everybody. I hope we meet again at the national get together down south.  If you are ever in the Blue Mountains, give me a shout.
Cheers

As you would know you could do worse than the mountains...

I was concerned when you said 'Western Sydney'... nobody would move there voluntarily!

KB I am hoping to see you guys at the national meet in the high country, so looking forward to that.

Edz, I know what you mean, it has become very busy up this way in the last 5 years, but still love the place. Work, people and agenda's conspired against me.

Bird, Yes, I'll be working Western Sydney, but can I say, it will be no different to Tweed Heads, but with greater resources. Every day I will cross the Nepean river, heading west into the Blue Mountains and breath a sigh of relief. ;)

My favourite spot and recommendation was a short 9km drive down the track from old home into Burralow Creek camp ground. A great spot for a camp fire (in season). Located between Kurrajong Heights and Bilpin with good access from each side in a 4wd and trailer friendly.

My favourite drive with short walk was out to a lookout over the Colo river from Sam's Way at Mountain Lagoon via Bilpin where if keen you can hike into the Colo river and lilow down river

And I wonder why I will miss the place!!
