Howdee,

Next weekend we are going away for a couple of nights and they want to bring their bikes. In the past I’ve attached the bike rack to the back of the trailer, but they have started to get damaged from being bounced around so much.

So thinking of attaching the bike rack to my tow hitch along with hitching the camper up.

I did a quick measure at home and think if I put the 2 bigger bikes near the car and the 2 smaller BMX bikes on the end of the bike rack it shouldn’t hit the spare trailer tyre which sits on the draw bar when turning corners.

Just wondering if anyone else has down this and if so did it work ok?

Thanks

Brett

I have done this in the past with the goldstream

I just have to take the bikes off before i reverse into the campsite if a 90 degree turn or the like is required as the camper will hit the wheels on a full turn.

Just the constant bouncing around seems to do the damage. With my bike the gear/brake cables run under the top frame I’ve had those cables splice twice rubbing on where it sits on the bike holder. Other bike had the gear changer and brake handle vibrate lose and lose half the pieces. Plus the scratches where they rub on each other.

When they have been on the back of the car I’ve never had any damage.
