RIP David Bowie - True Star
« on: January 11, 2016, 05:02:18 PM »
Another cancer victim....
 :(

Quote
Pop legend David Bowie has died, according to a notice on his official website and social media accounts.

"David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer," read a post on the musician's official Facebook page and website davidbowie.com about 6.30am Monday (UK Time).

"While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family's privacy during their time of grief."
Bowie's son Duncan Jones confirmed the news via his personal Twitter account.
"Very sorry and sad to say it's true. I'll be offline for a while. Love to all," Mr Jones tweeted.

His publicist Steve Martin, also confirmed the news, telling Reuters "it's not a hoax".

Born in London on 8 January 1947, the music icon with the dazzling, multi-coloured eyes released his last album Blackstar on his 69th birthday, just three days before his death was made public.

A sad day. Always thought his video done in the Karinda pub was special. Apparently he spent quite a bit of time here in Oz during the eighties.

Brilliant performer.

I was lucky enough to see him close Glastonbury back in 2000.  Just brilliant!

As a teen growing up he was truly a remarkable and unique artist. Saw him about 9 years ago, and he still could hold the notes.
Thanks for a lifetime of music.
RIP the Thin White Duke

Cheers Glen
