A big thanks to Redarc
« on: December 30, 2015, 10:49:16 PM »
This is one of those "could have been really bad but ended up really good" stories. Earlier this year we bought a new camper trailer. All the bells and whistles and both of us as happy as Larry.

Now for the bad bit. Soon after we got it the manager 30 battery management system started giving some crazy read outs. I want go into detail. So back to the manufacturer it goes and they replace the faulty system no questions asked and start testing it. They then find the new unit is doing the same. At this stage they then think there is a problem in the trailer and start a complete rewire. At some stage Redarc steps in and realises there is a fault with both units and then put another in. Problem fixed.

So I pick up the trailer, drag it home and all is good but after a couple of weeks it begins again and this is not long before they shut for Xmas. Back I go and yet another unit goes in. The manufacturer (Complete Campsite) have been great throughout nd have gone out of their way to
1 keep me up to date with progress and
2 get the problem sorted.

Now for the good bit.
The problem seems to be fixed. But I felt that I had been very inconvenienced by the whole saga and said so to the manufacturer. They agreed and gave me the number for the Redarc rep. I rang the guy. He upfront agreed. Said he was going to Adelaide the next day and could I put my concerns in writing. I did this and he rang me the next day to say he had spoken to his boss upon arrival and he had just posted a 72 watt folding solar blanket plus fittings in the post for me as compensation for the inconvenience. It arrived Xmas eve.

I am amazed at the prompt follow up by the Redarc rep. I could not have asked for a better outcome from the situation. The rep also told me to keep his number and ring him if there are any further issues with the system.

It is great to have Australian companies going out of their way to keep customers happy. My words do not do justice to the efforts of both Complete Campsite and Redarc in solving the issues I had with the trailer. Gotta be happy with the outcome.

Good customer service maybe but three faulty units in a row, doesn't
say much for their quality control!

A free solar blanket is nice but if the unit fails not to long down the track
and outside of the warranty the free solar blanket might not be such
a good deal.

I see where you are coming from but I do feel confident that the problem has been sorted. Only time will tell I guess.
