Wonder how many would be as game as these guys were back in 1970.. Reckon most wouldnt leave the suburb without ten times as much gear as these blokes took. Interesting they did the cape the year before the Leylands .

Awesome. Thanks for posting this. I absolutely love the spirit behind this...  Brave buggers, but I love it!

I do wonder when I see the taj mahals with satellite tv's, and all the modcons these days, whether they'd cope (but hey, if that's your thing enjoy it too... as long as you are getting out there and enjoying it )

Fantastic :cup: Thanks edz. It was definitely a different time back then. I think we still have that spirit of adventure in us, we're just too practical and sensible now, overloading our 4wds with every possible piece of equipment for every conceivable situation, with the added weight of the wider 4wding internet community telling us we're mad and irresponsible. There is no greater feeling than getting out away from civilisation, exploring and adventuring, and getting that adrenalin rush when challenged by the terrain and mother nature. That is what I call really living, and what I long for every day ;D
