Evade the heat of summer for kids
« on: November 25, 2015, 03:48:10 PM »
Been a mongrel hot humid day though with a breeze, benefit of being just of a canal and a couple of K's from the river and surf ..
Young one wanted her pool up the other day ..
So today out comes a few camping bits that arnt being used to add to it ..
Spare battery from the truck,  an old bilge pump hooked up to the shower head, the old 40W solar kit  a few poles and an old tarp a bag of zip ties and a roll of 100 MPH tape ...
Kool kid a few beers and all is good .. Show us your improvised kids koolers set ups .. ;D ;D

so the kids have a massive trampoline
i made a dome top for it by bending over some conduit and joining two pieces of shadecloth

last week we got some bunch em balloons and had a big water fight
this week we used the wandie leftover bits from the balloon kit and made a water fountain in the tramp

this is so good

That is CLASSIC great job there mate.
Better put a blue tarp liner tub under it with a bilge pump and recycle the water, other wise its gunna cost you a fortune over summer with excess water rates  ;D ;D

We tie the hose to the edge of the tramp and use the shower head on mist setting, or put the sprinkler under the tramp matting so it sprays up from underneath.  (the tramp is near the fruit trees so I'm sure they don't mind)

Many many years ago back on the farm we had a massive old mullberry tree, one season the fruit wasnt real good, so the old man got this youngster out there with boxes of old rusty nails and bolts and let me loose hammering them into the trunk of the tree .. Next season the tree was that heavy in the greenest leaves and had the best crop of fruit it had ever been known to have .
