Rhinomax Discovery - does anyone have one??
« on: November 13, 2015, 04:59:58 PM »
Looked for posts and found some mentions of these but none with comments by owners.  I would be very interested in any owner's opinions.  Mac

Hi Mac,

We are having Rhinomax build a Discovery "Evo" (second release model) for us as we write, collect in early January 2016.

Have not seen a Discovery in the flesh, though with good recommendations and some home work, we are very comfortable in our purchase.  The base model is great value, though there are many options to make life comfortable that add a bit more to the over all cost, however Rhinomax have been fair with every upgrade.

Our dealings with Steve and Andy (the owners) have been easy and pleasant and we believe that we will receive a good Hybrid, tailored to us at a competitive price.

We went for air con and a diesel heater, and the "needed" leather seating, along with other slight tweaks to fit our preferences, Rhinomax easily accommodated. These guys know what they are doing and are fair at that, looking forward to lots of fun with little or no hassle from the camper.

As far as the build quality goes on the Discovery, we have read on an Australian market leaders web site, that they have redesigned their hybrid to emulate the Rhinomax Discovery. Items like dropping the alloy shell for a composite fiberglass construction, upgrading their Windows to what Rhinomax's provides and revising their chassis to match, confirms our choice of manufacture. The value from Rhinomax is a standout. Hope it helps.

Why we chose the Discovery is relatively easy, despite seeing so many four wheelers throughout our extensive travels and seeing so much bling at all the caravan and camping shows, the discovery suits us to a T. We do know how harsh our roads and environment can be, so a quality robust design with insulated fibreglass panel construction means we have reliability with comfort. With the size, big is not necessarily better, if you intend to go further than the preverbal caravan park.

Will write more and qualify when we actually have our hands on the Discovery, in the mean time we are excited and looking forward our travels!

Got to love Australia !

Cheers,
