just do it, you wont regret it - make sure yr battery is up to it though, remember that yr normal cranking battery isn't - if you don't have the room for a second battery then invest in a good hybrid (we have a 100Ah) and if you can a decent solar panel AND mppt controller that all switches off or disconnects when the ignition is on so you don't have two 'smart' systems causing each other to switch off
