Honest mistake

“I'm really sorry for the team as it was my error that put us out and also destroyed a car,” Mostert said in a statement released from his Prodrive Racing Australia team late last night.

“I just lost my racing line due to a bit of sun glare and glanced the wall. From there I was a passenger and took some pretty big hits.”

One thing about young Chaz Mostert, no one can say that he did not race the wheels of his Ford.

Happy to hear that he is ok.

maybe this should be in the rant thread, but what is with all the ad's during the race coverage  >:( >:( >:(

I'd understand if I was watching channel 10, but I'm paying for foxtel which was advertised as live and ad free...............

I made a cranky old man call to their complaints number, and it seems I'm not the only unhappy camper.

I agree! But on Telstra TBox, the channel you are watching is put in a small box in the lower corner  and the ads are playing in the back ground! Work that out!

Would be better if they just played the add at the bottom of the screen!!

Pretty tame shootout, pity about the rain. Hopefully it is fine tomorrow for the big race.

Yeah It was..... but it shows that there are so many other influences that can come into the race! JW didnt look to good in the rain, did say that there were issues if the rain was back again tomorrow!!

Esky iced and packed waiting at the door  for a 7am pick up.
Off to the bakers to pick up the pre ordered bread and rolls. 7.30am can in hand at a mates place for the traditional bacon, egg and black label Beam breakfast.
Then light the spit and kick back for 10+ hours of mayhem with 40 odd blokes....

From what I understand, in F1 cars they use a ZYLON  synthetic rope [ 5000kg breaking strain] it attaches to the chassis and around a flange on the back of the brake disc hub / some are fitted to the stub axle spindle.. Nascar etc use it too / monster trucks etc ..
pic is of a monster truck set up for a better veiw.
Google, Race car  wheel tethers ..

Yep, race pace is the main factor with TV wanting it to finish just before the nightly news. Maybe they should make it the Bathurst 1200.
My main beef with TV is they way they interrupt the shootout with add breaks. When you get rain it handicaps the faster cars

I'm a Lowndes/Holden fan, is it just me or do the Holdens look 'old' compared to the Ford/Volvo/Merc?
