I made some out of the bottom of milk crates, Carried them through the kimberleys twice. used  to help other travellers, one being some French tourists, in a AWD, road tyres at 45psi, stuck on the beach north of Tom Price. Worked a treat. of course first thing was to lower tyre pressures, that clip looks like they have not done much of that

The only problem is milk crates always remain the property of the milk company.  If lots of them start disappearing into the back of 4wds, the companies are going to start enforcing the law.
