I'm on the way out of here but before I go may I please say a few words. I don't exactly know what I have said or done to upset you people on this site, but I have no doubt I have firmly inserted my foot in my mouth yet again. I have posted a number of times but no one seems to want to acknowledge them. Big deal I say. I have been ignored by professionals. Before you say htfu, allow me to offer you a brief history. 7 yrs ago I lost my brother to suicide. He left a wife and an 8 mth old baby. 2 yrs after that I lost my fiancee to breast cancer, and just 1yr latter my mum, with the same Shitful disease. So, you may say it's been a **** of a run. So, here's me.....thinking, being technologicaly retarded, I'll give it a go and I'll join a forum and feel a sense of belonging, a new family so to speak. I do struggle with dealing with people face to face. I am fairly opinionated but I thought, hey, these people seem real cool. They will be forgiving of my failibilities. I don't know. Maybe I was wrong. Have been before. Lots.
Ok. I suppose what I'm trying to say is......people....don't be too quick to judge someone.
Everybody has a history. Some is hidden. Some is open for all to see.
   You never.....ever....know.....
Great forum. Great people. 'Fraid I just don't fit in.
See ya.

Which ever way you decide to go, all the best mate. I wouldn't pull the pin if I were you, hang in there. Everyone has their opinion, it makes for healthy debate as long as it doesn't get personal. I'm no Myswag guru, but the meets sound good & there seems a lot of good people on here. You'll find your niche & it'll work out fine.
As I say though, all the best if you don't stick around, I hope the future treats you better then the past has.
Cheers

That's a shame, but accept we can be a quirky lot on occasion.  Having said that, I've met some absolute nutters through this forum. Somewhat homely really.

Shame to see you go.
There is a wealth of talent and information on this forum.
If you do not like the off topic discussions, just stay out of them completely.
Sad to see members leave, but all the best if that's what you decide to do.

Don't be too quick to depart.
I for one have never seen a post by you, I might have to do a search and see what you have done to "offend" people.

I think you'll find that all forums are a bit "clicky"

You just have to weed out the good from the bad.

I doubt that you are being judged, most likely the readers have nothing to say or don't know how to respond.

The fact that you posted that you are "on the way out of here" suggests that you don't really want to go.
( I would have just left)

As a whole I find this forum close to normal (LOL), well as normal as you will get in cyberspace.

Let's see if anyone else backs me up.

Cheers Rob

Don't take the lack of acknowledgement to heart, every forum I have been part of has a certain amount of cliquiness where the conversation seems to go on around you despite efforts to take part in discussions.

There could also be a few swaggers that haven't worked out when to leave tooooooooo.......

Don't be too hasty Al,

Have a break, go camping or exploring and then wander back and do a write up - it'll make everyone wish they were out there and you'll feel better for it!  ;D

Champin, it does sound like you've been thru the wringer mate. Keep your chin up either way and as Speewa said, it can be a quirky lot here but it is still a great forum and i havent met a lot of members yet but those I have are great people which makes me want to meet more while I'm out n about.

Either way mate. All the best wishes for you.

Looks like he's severed ties. His posts show him as a "Guest" user now.

It's sad to see, but we're not going to win everyone's heart.

The thing some people need to realise, is that some of us also know each other from long before we got on this forum, hence why we act like we do together. I've known atleast half a dozen members from here for many years before joining this forum, been in a 4wd club together and spent plenty of time camping with them over the years also. Others i have gotten to know at a couple of meet ups so now have a good friendship with them aswell, has taken me several years to get to know some of these other people.

likewise, I've now met some great mates/friends through this forum in many different locations around Oz and from all walks of life. Oldmate's nowhere near as bad as some of you warned me about, or it could be that we're both just crazy. And speewa, well his forum persona is all a front. He's much worse in person;D but I would still do anything to help if asked.
I do feel a little hollow in that I never got to meet TJ, seemed like a bit of a character in the short time I knew him. Not sure what happened to the medical equipment I sent up there;D possibly sild on ebay.

Pretty sure we all share a passion for the outdoors and camping, so good chance we're going to make like connections and this is going to work for some, and not others.
What we all do however need to be aware of is that there are people out there looking for someone to talk to, this doesn't apply to just this forum, it's everywhere.

Hey Champin,

Dont go mate, ive lost track of my posts that get ignored but believe me when i say this. You definitely will not find a better bunch of people than this quirky lot.

Without going into too much detail ive been through the ringer in the psst 2 years, and i can guarantee you this thst without this lot helping me get through it.  I honestly dont think i would have got through it.

Hang in there bud. If you want to talk please email me.
