I'm happily running Ubuntu with very few issues fit my give laptop - I can't be arsed with windows at home unless I'm photo processing, as I still use Lightroom

not that hard to get windows 10 running smoothly... as easy as it was with windows 7...

both at home and enterprise.

Agree with this too... To be fair to Microsoft, they have had a pretty solid product in Windows 7 and 10... I rarely get asked by family for support anymore, and in the enterprise is the hardware that lets us down more than the operating system these days
