At the risk of sounding offensive I wouldn't trust anything an Indian made with the possible exception of a royal Enfield bike....and that's because the poms designed them.
You think the Chinese can make some crap at times it's got nothing on what Indian standards are

A bloke I know worked as a mechanic in a certain multi vehicle dealership which included Tata a few years ago & quote" Never buy a Tata".
As to Indian makes, a rellie has a dual cab Mahindra & value for money, it's great. He's done heaps of outback stuff towing a camper & done it with ease. They've just come back from the "3 corners" & had a hoot.
Here's their first trip. Not 3 corners.

I've got a mate that's got one and he highly recommends them.. I drove it a few weeks ago and I was very surprised at how comfortable it was.. So as a touring vehicle towing a camper I think it would eat up the k's..

Quite possibly mate but it's like the lada of the 200 '.
Why tempt fate.
Thier passenger cars don't meet safty ratings anywhere outside of the poorest south east Asian countries and thier build qualities questionable from reviews I heard a few years back...screams lada.
I'd Personaly have one of those Wolsey taxis they make thier though

Don't knock the Lada.. I've got another mate with one and he's always up in around the Glasshouse mountain flexing the crap out of it.. And I've seen him at cruiser park following a few highly modified GU's..

Lada are great cars.
The lada niva when it came out as with the fiat 128 clone were Shit but not by design, conceptual the niva was a fantastic car and if you drove it home from the dealer and pulled it apart and resembled it yourself it was great.
The build quality was Shit....range rovers spring to mind to
