New to My Swag????
« on: July 07, 2015, 06:21:55 PM »
Hi All,
Im new to this page so bare with me a bit. We've been research Hard floor camper trailers. On our short list is Ecomate Hard floor.  I thought i posted a question on the homepage already with a question about Ecomate & linked it to "Moggy". I made a mistake and sent it as a personal message. Thanks for the reply Moggy

My questions regards...Ecomate sell a Ecomate Explorer Standard $13.5k & Ecomate Series 3 $16.5k. The series 3 seems very popular. Does anyone own the Ecomate standard model & are they happy with it? Any problem that have advised with it & modifications that have to be made?

I should be travelling down to see Mark at Guardian Campers in a week, he said he'll show me around the workshop. On spec there doesn't seem to much difference between two models to spend extra $3k.
Any tips would be appreciated reasearched a fair bit, but a newbie to camper trailers.
Cheers ????Mike

I think you will find that the "standard" is an SUV explorer, not an Ecomate.

Evo,
Townsville branch that sell Ecomate are advertising Ecomate Standard model. I spoke to Mark Rocky Ecomate Dealer this week and they have this model in stock as a Ecomate model. Attached the advert from Gumtree advertised this wk.

A bit confused Evo, you don't sell this model as a Ecomate. Yet it has the logo clearly on the side of trailer. Previous post?????

You and me both,
the one in the photo is an Ecomate Explorer series 2 (or 3, hard to tell with out seeing it open or the rear of it)
Mark is independent to either myself or Modcon in capalaba, so unfortunately I have no further info for you.
http://www.guardiancampers.com.au/suv-explorer-standard/
I was only going off what was listed on his website. I really can't give you any more info on an Ecomate "standard" as it is not one myself or modcon carry to my knowledge.

I do apologize I am not able to be of more help, I really suggest that you should speak to Mark as I am sure he can fill you in on the blanks.

Thanks Evo,  :cup:for looking into it for me. All I can see from their spec for differences between two models. Stove, battery & only 1 large toolbox on front of standard model smaller fridge compartment. Size of living area the same but $3k difference between prices. Will call my local branch and see why this is happening in QLD. I may be back to square one in picking a CT.

cheers Tracker,
I've read great things of FF and a lot of people have a 3 Series. Our budget is slightly less so looking at Standard model. We'll prob gonna go on a few small trips to start with to get out with our 3yr & 1yr old kids. Doubt we'll get into hardcore off-road like cape trip for a while yet. Big trip for us would be Mackay ->Philip Island Oct 2016 to watch Moto Gp's. Hoping the standard model doesn't cut to many corners. I would be able to do mods myself, seen as though we won't be going to far at first will prob keep them basic if there ok. I read "BlueDevil" owns the one we are looking at. Hoping he can fill me in with his experience too.
Good luck with your Cape Trip, if your passing through town give us a shout

Mike
