Nindigully many years ago on an endevour car rally, was minus 4 or minus 5 (forget exactly which it was) the publican told us that morning whilst we were having brekky. Would have done a few similar temps on that trip out West that year.... recall waiting atleast 15 - 20 minutes for the heater to defrost the front windscreen one morning so we could drive off, ice was to thick to scrape from the windscreen that day.

Tented it in -5 in the UK. Tent zips froze up with the condensation and we had to melt the ice on the zips with a lighter to get out of the tent.

Mt Baw Baw - did a snow course with work and had to snow shoe up the hill and camp in igloos/tents - was a bit chilly but no thermometer. My camel back froze solid in my pack.

Similar here - slept on Mt Stirling in the snow in a small tent when cross country skiing. Had a duck down sleeping bag and 2 cheap foam mattresses. Would say I was comfortable but certainly not toasty.

Years ago I got a bit drunk and may have made a footpath pizza before heading off to bed. Was frosty that night  :D

We did a cross country ski trip in high school on Mt Stirling. Camped in a tent and a borrowed sleeping bag and roasted most of the night. Snowed over night but wouldn't know what the temp was. Getting out of the sleeping bag was the worst part!

Similar to others around - 11 or 12. Camped at Denison on lake Eucumbene working. Watch stopped, water bottle froze solid, canvas lid on the swag was solid and the zippers frozen shut. We could pick the rope up that was tied to the boat and it was like as stick for about 10 feet.

I don't have a photo but it's etched into my mind.

A work mate just got back 3 weeks ago - he couldn't have his hands out of his sleeping bag to hold his book in the tent!

I slept in the back of my commodore ute in fiordland national park mid winter.
Drove down there and back in the day the petrol station was open for 5 mins every hour on the hour and shut at 5.05 until 9 am the following day.
One of the least enjoyable moments of my life. I just slept in my clothes... no sleepingbag
