What are the defects?
The snatch straps failed to meet the requirement stated on their product labels.

What are the hazards?
Using the Hercules 8,000 kg snatch strap over 5,000 kg and the 11,000 kg snatch strap over 6,000 kg could result in injury or death.

Looks like I'm getting myself a new snatch strap. Fortunately I think there's a Tigerz11 store in Cairns these days. No store in Cairns anymore.

edit - more info. Apparently it may only be a small batch but they are recalling the entire range. Apparently letters being sent to purchasers next week.

The latest issue of Unsealed 4x4 had a review of snatch straps and tested them for strength. Quite interesting. From undersize and oversize to the differences in failure weight between wet and dry. The Hercules from memory failed at nearly half the rating of the strap

Yeah, they canned both the 8000 and 11000 Hercules that they tested

Personally, I stick with ARB gear. Might pay a bit more but never, ever have problems.

I just happen to spot these on a shelf in a stand at the show in brissie today.  Hope they don't sell too many.
