So long story short, based on the glowing references and the need for a new BBQ, I snapped up a Weber BabyQ 1200 (high lid/temp gauge) - Mainly this model as I was under the impression it would fit straight into the front boot of the Jayco Swan (2015 Outback)...I went out to pack the new Weber into the camper for a trip away this weekend, and alas - The handle of the Weber protrudes to the extent the front boot will not close  ??? ??? - Am I packing it in wrong ? - I've moved it around this way and that, but still can't seem to get it in and the lid closed ??

The boss is not real happy as I may have suggested the Weber based on it fitting straight in :-[ :-[ :-[

Lol We put our BBQ (not an over rated Webber) in the doorway.  Much easier.

Not sure what it ever did to you but ours has been the best bit of kit we brought with us so far 1month into a 7month trip! Bake, roast, pizza & bbq... It's awesome!

Sorry OP... No idea about it not fitting but I'm sure I have read that is where others keep it also. Good luck and it's worth pursuing!!!

Not sure but I think he was taking the piss,

You could always just store inside on the floor, remove it when needed or put it out of the way until you need it....

Changing from a camper trailer to a crossover/hybrid type I now find that several bulky items now sit on the floor. BBQ, chairs table that are always used just sit inside the door, on the floor. Easy to get out when you arrive and no more unloading from the car or side/front lockers.

I bought a big plastic tub from Bunnies, and kept all the weber stuff in it. That slid in the door of the old Coromal PS 421.
That way I didnt have to worry aboug dirty bbq leaving its mark and kept it all together.
There's a big difference between kneeling down
......... and bending over.

I sort of was taking the pi**...but I don't own one because I already have a Hot ozi bbq...which cooks most normal things easier than the Webber.....like bacon and eggs...hash browns , sausages, toast, pancakes etc..

I found the ribbed plate a pain on Webbers and other similar brands for the above type cooking ( I know you can get a smooth plate, but that's more money again )

But I'm in the minority because every man and his dog seem to have a Webber !!

One thing about storing things on the floor of a camper or van.....have seen the damage to cupboards and fridges etc from this...not a pretty sight on a $40,000 van !!

I agree with Gronk that every Man and his dog now owns a Webber Q as they are the ‘must have’ cool camping accessory. I will admit they do cook very well, but for us they are too big and bulky and take up much needed space, hence why I don’t own one.  So until I get blown up, I will keep using my 2 burner gas canister burner.

Hope you find options that don't require pulling it apart, as that is where I was planning on putting our baby Q when we get our swan.

Mine will fit in the front boot of my Expanda (must have a bigger boot than the camper trailers) but if I need to carry other stuff like the EU10 & fuel for example I will put the Weber in the van as I dont want the chance of getting the smell petrol in the van, just make sure you put a new drip tray in it as mentioned earlier.
