After putting this thread up I ended up going to our local hardware store and being it was just before fathers day they had both the 1.8 and 1 litre on sale I purchased the 1.8 they said I could take back and change it if I got home and changed my mind on the size but ended up getting the smaller one as well, have used them many times since getting them and they stay hot for a long time have not had any leaking.  They are thermos café ones by thermos.  We usually just take them and the coffee sachets, then don't need to carry milk as well. Take them on day trips in the car and to the footy.

We use a 12V jug on the road and you just plug it in 10-15 mins before pulling over for a cuppa-

I picked up that single SS one for $25 from Target(they have bigger ones) after eventually breaking a glass one which was always the problem dropping a vacuum flask too.
Pays for themselves pretty quickly and I reckon I could have sold plenty of coffee with the wistful onlookers smelling the coffee in remote places at times.
You need to install a separate fused cig socket for a 12V jug though.

Tested the Thermos King Travel mugs out yesterday. First thing you notice is that they are solid items.. They feel totally quality.
So with coffee yesterday - these things keep the water thermonuclear for 1/2 a day! Unlike the silver ones I bought from Rays few years ago..
I haven't really tested the leakage, but the drive to work there were no spillages, even after stopping at RJB for hour+.
The instructions were too small to read, so Hope there wasn't much to do to em but wash out and make coffee :) :)

I have 2 x stanley 'vacuum flasks'.  One failed to hold temp after a year.
I contacted the distributor - based near Dandenong and they replaced the flask with no receipt required and no mucking about.  They even gave me back the screw cap and cup to keep as spares for the new one.

Great service.
