trailer cover zip
« on: May 17, 2015, 05:40:51 PM »
We have a camp trailer and love getting out and about with it, but have an issue when it comes time to pack up.

What do you guys use on the zip on the cover to keep it zipping up easily, as it gets dusty and becomes a pain to close?

Have considered silicone sprays etc but worried that it would give dust something to stick too making it worse.

cheers

Silicon spray is the best. I don't find dust sticks to it.

The main thing with zips, don't put the force on them, push the two bits together so there is slack at the zip and it can run freely.

Your zipper head may be stuffed. If you can get someone to replace it (and show you how to do it as well for future reference) it will make pack-up sooo much easier.
My wife has become a dab hand at it and has replaced the cover and door zippers on our CT once they became a pain in the arse.
Mind you our CT is around 15 years old and has seen a few miles.

May the force be with you. ;D

I use zips on a daily basis in my job. Many moons ago when I was apprentice, my boss talk me a lesson that I still use often. Your words made me chuckle.

With a zip you need a slide hammer  ;D
